The research behind the Mobility Designer

The Mobility Designer is based on research conducted within TEAM’s Work Package 4 on mobility in music teacher education. We combined systematic document analyses of study plans and mobility structures with a wide range of qualitative interviews involving students, teacher educators, and international administrative staff. This gave us insight into both the formal frameworks of mobility and the lived realities behind them.

The results of this work have informed three research articles/chapters, all available open access through this website (→ “Literature” section of the website). Since these publications offer more space for methodology and detailed analyses, we invite readers who are interested in the full research background to explore them further.

The people behind the Mobility Designer

The Mobility Designer is the result of a collaborative research and development process within TEAM Work Package 4 on mobility in music teacher education. The WP4 team consisted of Jens Knigge (WP leader), Runa Hestad Jenssen, Solveig Fretheim, and Kirsti Nørstebø (all Nord University, Norway), Thomas De Baets (LUCA School of Arts, KU Leuven, Belgium), Natassa Economidou-Stavrou (University of Nicosia, Cyprus), Lorraine O’Connell (TU Dublin, Ireland), and Rúta Girdzijauskienė (Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Lithuania).

Their combined work shaped the research, analysis, and design principles presented here.
