About
Work Packages

TEAM is structured in 9 work packages that are strongly interconnected.
WP 1 and WP 9 is steered by the coordinator, WP 2 by the steering committee (chairs of WP 3-8) and the project lead (IM, TB & KS). WP 3-5 are structured as design-based research projects in order to develop open educational resources, learning offers, tools and materials for initial and ongoing music teacher education and music education in schools. Design, implementation, research and dissemination are strongly interconnected.
WP 3 is focusing on future-making issues of music education (sustainability, democracy, digitalization). Online and offline learning offers for schools, universities and providers of in-service education are developed. Research findings on practices of future-making education and related learning processes are feeding into the development of learning outcomes (see WP 6). The research in WP 4 is focusing on students and teachers’ perspectives on and experiences with exchange programmes in music education. This serves as a database for the development of opportunities for students to study music education abroad. WP 7 (s. below) is providing country specific information on music teacher education for WP 4.
In WP 5 mentoring modules as well as formats and design principles for internship are designed. Mentors and students are interviewed in order to identify conditions for a successful internship abroad. Knowledge about school music education in the different European countries is provided and received by WP 8. WP6-8 are the mapping activities within the project that are providing information for WP3-5 and will lead to the description of European Learning Outcomes for music teacher education (WP 6), (online) reports on music teacher education (WP 7), and school music education (WP 8). These documents will serve as important sources for policy work, research and practice in music education in Europe.
