Dr. Angeliki Triantafyllaki is Assistant Professor of Music Education, Technology and Teacher Education at the Department of Music Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Prior to this, she taught at the University of Ioannina, Greece (Associate Professor), the Open University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia. She holds a PhD in Music Education from the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, an MPhil in Education from the University of Cambridge, and a BA degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She also studied piano performance at the National Conservatoire of Athens (1994-2003).
Between 2009-2016, she participated as investigator / researcher on a range of national and international research projects in music education technology, music performance and new technologies, HEI student internships and creative knowledge transfer (UK HEA, European Commission FP7-ICT), Thalis) and secured competitive funding for individual postdoctoral research on music teacher education (British Academy Visiting Fellowship, Greek State Scholarship Foundation). Her current interests are to be found in digital technologies and AI in music education, school and University partnerships, teacher education placements and mentoring.
She currently serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Music Education (ISME) and the book series EPoME (European Association of Music in Schools). She is also a long-term member of ISME, has served as commissioner to CEPROM and is currently serving on the Instrumental and Vocal Music Teaching Commission (IVMTC). On the TEAM Project, Dr. Angeliki Triantafyllaki contributes to WP7 (Mapping Music Teacher Education in Europe) through her expertise on teacher education literature in Europe and further afield, and experience on data and research reporting for international projects. She contributes also to WP5 (School Internships Abroad and Mentoring) through initial postdoctoral and continuing research work with the field of music teacher education since 2009. In WP5, she brings her knowledge as co-representative of the ERASMUS+placement scheme in her University, knowledge of researching HEI students‘ domestic internships & research expertise of analysing large qualitative datasets / of reporting and disseminating findings to diverse audiences.
