Lina Van Dooren is a PhD Candidate in Music Education at the Malmö Academy of Music and Agenda 2030 Graduate School, both affiliated to Lund university. She teaches educational sciences at the music teacher training program and supervises students in the first cycle. Her practice-based research focuses on the connection between music education and sustainable development in a general school setting. She has been participating in and organising the conference “Social Engagement & the Arts” (2021), chaired seminars such as “Theme II: Knowledge on communicating uncertainty and ambiguity in sustainability research” during Lund university Sustainability Week (2021) and been a member of the panel “Who’s in charge? – Accountability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” (2020). Her international experience covers participation in different projects and activity as an elected board member in the European Association for Music in Schools since 2015.
Lina Van Dooren is currently working on her PhD on the SDGs in the music classroom and will bring in her expertise as a group member into WP3.
